shot 1: green brown dull little bits of white black, nature/natural colour palette, outside of district 12 makes us feel wild
shot 2: in the capitol white, greys, silver, metals, buildings and old things people are bright and colourful, metallic, industrial/technological feels futuristic, rich/wealthy,
shot 3: the control room, whites and shades of blue, clean, clinical, shows use of tech, makes us think of intelligence, cramped, algorithmic,
colour is used effectively to show the theme of rich vs poor. this is demonstrated in the two scenes- District 12 at the start of the film and the Capitol when Katniss and peeta arrives from the train, in District 12 a natural, dull and dark colour palette of greens and browns is used to create a wild atmosphere, in the Capitol a metallic, industrial colour palette of white silvers and greys is used to create a feeling of an advanced society. the purpose of this is to show the rich vs poor in the two societies, the Capitol has more bright colours and advanced buildings and technology, whereas District 12 has dull colours to show they're run down buildings and over worn clothing. combined with the use of costumes we are able to see the divide between the wealthy of the Capitol and the poor of District 12. this reminds the audience of the riot scene later in the film when the poor citizens 11 rebel against the rule of the Capitol.

boomerangs
1, Explain the purpose of the activity: to learn about boomerangs
2, Explain the story of your boomerang, including the meaning of the colours: I just kinda did things that look cool and made it look pretty using colours, there isn't really any story to it
3, What went well when painting your boomerang: I didn't mess up

How Are Costumes Are Used To Enhance The Story
photo 1:
blues/whites, all look the same, many people, faded clothes for over wearing and washing, girls all braided hair, guys all combed/short, girls all in dresses, boys collared shirts, live in poverty, makes us feel bad, Effie trinket is juxtaposed to the people in District 12
photo 2:
head pieces, vibrant colours, over the top make-up, high end/good quality, clean, everyone looks different, is very rich and over the top, juxtaposed to District 12, more technologically advanced
photo 3:
jacket, pants, t-shirt, shoes, camo, dark, all the same costume, makes us feel worried, depersonalize the tributes
Costumes are used effectively to show the imbalance between rich and poor, the capitol an District 12, in Panam. For instance, this is seen in the reaping scene where the figure of Effie Trinket is juxtaposed to those of District 12 in this scene the children of District 12 are wearing dull faded and simple clothes whilst Effie wears a vibrant pink outfit with an extravagant wig and and over the top make up. This makes us understand how unwealthy the people of District 12 are compared to the people in the Capitol. The purpose of this is to show that life in all the Districts is not as hard as it is in District 12. Coinciding with this is the use of setting in District 12 everything is run down and old but in the Capitol it is new clean and colourful. The costumes used in the reaping scene can be juxtaposed to those worn by citizens of the Capitol seen by Peeta and Katnyss on the train

camera shots and angles are used effectively in the film 'The Hunger Games'. For example, in the scene after the tribute parade where we first meet the character of President Snow, Gary Ross uses a combination of over the shoulder and high angle with an extreme long shot. this is used to show Snow is a powerful individual in the Capitol as everyone is listening to him. the purpose for this is to show Snow's supremacy among the people of the capitol and the tributes. coinciding with this, the use of setting shows a special place above others for Snow and below for the tributes. this can be juxtaposed to the scene later in the film where Katniss and Peeta reclaim power by threatening to eat the poisonous nightlock berries in the arena
dutch tilt- used to show things are abnormal or out of kilter
mid shot- used to make us seem out of the scene and like we can't do anything
low angle- used to make everything seem bigger and more menacing but in this case used to make Katniss seem more important as she's a tribute
In the film 'The Hunger Games' camera shots and angles are used exceptionally in one part of the reaping scene where Katniss is on the stage this scene uses a combination of a dutch tilt, low angle and a mid shot effectively to make a mysterious and distant atmosphere as Katniss stands there with a shocked expression on her face as if she was shocked that she volunteered to save her sister which in the world of the hunger games basically signing a death warrant as in the hunger games 23 of the 24 die and as of such there is a 1/24 chance she'll survive
