Questions to answer when viewing/reading texts:

1. How does viewing this text through a child’s perspective change the way we experience it? Explain using an example from the text.

It shows a lot more of a pure and impressionable reaction to many of the scenes like how Johannes better known as his nickname of Jojo is very unbridled in his beliefs that being that the nazi’s are good and there’s no better country/race which is shared by some adults but is most well known for being shown by the children

2. How would this text be different if it were told from the perspective of an adult? How would the audience’s experience be different?

The opinions and beliefs of the protagonist would be a lot more varied as adults tend to have better senses of right and wrong but they’d have to lie about their beliefs to not get hung/killed. This would lead to them regressing in society as they don’t wanna be caught as that’d result in their demise. They’d probably be incredibly introverted and would tend to not talk to people too much.

3. Why did the filmmaker or author decide to tell this story from a child’s perspective?

Because it allows us to see things from a child’s perspective and show their reaction to many of the things that took place in the story making the twists and turns a lot more powerful compared to the world at large meaning that we emphasize with him more because he’s so young and has so much more to experience so all this sis till so much larger to him then it is to the audience

4. How are children represented in the text? How are adults represented in the text?

They are portrayed as a lot more gullible and believing and steadfast in their beliefs when they’ve made their mind up while the adults seem a lot more questioning on whether or not what they’re believing is right or wrong

5. Does imagination help the young hero to cope? How so? Provide an example.

It does as Jojo has an imaginary friend that being adolf hitler who’s one of the main sources of comedy in the movie as he is constantly spurring on jojo acting like a well of confidence for Jojo, constantly telling him that he can do it if he tries hard enough but that only lasts until Jojo becomes more independent and starts to go against the nazi party where hitler starts acting more and more angrily trying to persuade Jojo to come back to the nazi party, this is all up until jojo’s resolved his beliefs choosing to be against that nazi party and when hitler tries to confront him jojo finally “grows up” and gets rid of his imaginary friend.

6. Does this text connect in any other ways to the other texts you have read/viewed? How so? Provide evidence and explain.

It connects to “Unwind” where the ideas of childhood independence and being an adult are constantly brought up as there’s a new technology called “unwinding” where parents can get their up to 18 year old child “unwound” if they want to here their unwound parts will be used for transplants to save other people’s lives and give them new limbs/organs and the argument in the text is the question of “is unwinding morally just” as it allows more people to live but it also both kills and keeps alive the child who has to go through the unwinding process while staying conscious and also should a parent be allowed to in a way abort a child after they’ve been born or if they misbehave.

Steaming	Moist method of cooking, using vapours from boiling water to heat and cook the food. This method retains valuable nutrients since the food does not come into contact with the liquid. Food remains moist and tender. Vegetables such as broccoli and carrots are often cooked this way.
Boiling	Slow cooking process in which food is gently simmered for a long time, until it’s tender. Good method to use with tough cuts of meat. Casserole works in the same way, but is heated in oven rathr than on top of the stove.
Grilling	Makes use of direct heat to cook and brown the surface of food. It is a quick method of cooking because heat is direct and the food is already tender or easy to cook. BBQ is example of this method.
Stir frying	Quick cooking method where ingredients are tossed in a pan or wok to cook at a high temperature. Little oil and water is sometimes added to give moisture to the dish. Should avoid this method if you are trying to reduce the amount of oil or fat in your food plan

these cooking all reduce the fat sugar and slat content in their own ways. some use heat to make the fats leak out, some make it so you don't need them in the first place.
