- Which job in the graveyard does Risa get assigned to? How does this come about? P201: Risa gets assigned the job of nurse as when she was about to leave with the job of helping in the galley before Connor broke someones nose to get Risa the job of nurse
- Why doesn't Connor volunteer for "work"? P205 : he thinks of it as a way the Admiral's using them
- How does Roland unsettle Connor? P206-207 : by telling him about a theory he had that the Admiral has unwound people to make himself look different
- P208-209 detail Lev's arrival, and Connor's reaction. Make sure you fill in your character profiles for both characters. :
- P214-215 Connor learns the truth about the Admiral here. How does the Admiral gain Connor's trust? : by saying that he stays in the middle of the desert in a rotting jet all year so why would he be selling kids and choosing who gets unwound and what parts of them he'd get
- What, according to the Admiral, is it that Connor is becoming famous for in the Graveyard?p212: first for the things he repairs and secondly for the fighting
- What happens to the Goldens?p217 : they suffocated after being sealed in a shipping crate
- How does Roland begin to assert his power in the Graveyard? (you'll need to look throughout the section) : he spreads rumours about the admiral
- P222-226 give us an insight into how the Unwinding Bill was passed into law. Summarise what happened, then explain whether or not you think it is plausible.: there was a big war with one side killing abortion doctors and the other side getting pregnant only to donate their fetal tissue
- The Admiral was there when the Bill of Life was signed - do you think this detracts from the believability of the commonplace nature of Unwinding? In your opinion, do you think the book should have a few more generations between those who signed the Bill, and the present state in the novel? : yeah i think it would help the book to have a more clear disconnect between the bill of life passing and what we are shown because with how short of a time it's been it makes it seem like people were waiting for it to be passed for a long time
- What job does Lev volunteer to do? P236 :" working on a pipeline in Alaska
- Which part of Harlan Dunfree does Emby have? P240 : his right lung
- Chapter 39 is from Roland's point of view. Why do you think Shusterman changes the narrative here? What do we learn in this short chapter? : that Roland has been sabotaging the graveyard to make the Admiral seem like he wants people to be in bad conditions
- By the end of this section, things at the Graveyard have deteriorated, with the unwinds turning on the Admiral, and tearing the place apart. Which character is beaten to death on p250? : Cleaver
- What does the Admiral refuse on p255? What is the doctor's reaction to this? : a heart transplant to save his life from a heart attack
- Why does Roland have the Juvey-Cops called? P259 Why doesn't his plan happen? P260-1 : because they had files for all three of them and the police knew about the graveyard for over a year so they wouldn't do anything unless the Admiral died
