for this writing task i just did some free writing and did some writing on a story i'm writing with a friend

writing task 1

for my first writing task i did the task called unexpected where you write a short story about finding $40,000 in a shoe box in your house somewhere

It was a fine summer day and Jessie was cleaning out the garage in her newly bought home everything was fine until she stumbled upon a box that the real estate agent didn’t mention “why is this here?” Jessie asks concerned picking up the box and prying off the lid that was too small for it’s base revealing $40,000 in hundred dollar bills “sweet now I can renovate that terrible bathroom….” Jessie mutters to herself taking out the money and putting it in a safe place chucking the box into the recycling bin she then went back to her normal business making a few phone calls to get the bathroom renovated she also bought some food for the new house, after the renovation she still had 20,000 dollars left over “i could use this to buy a ton of food or games…..” jessie mutters under her breath before noticing something was off in the room, it felt as if someone was there with her “hello little one” the mysterious voice whispers behind Jessie “who are you?” Jessie asks turning around “I am the one called Rend and it seems you found my little secret” Rend says smirking “little secret? Do you mean the cash?” Jessie asks confused “no i mean the house! Of course I mean the money you dolt!” Rend snaps “well i didn’t know what you meant you’re a mysterious figure that just appeared in my house!” Jessie snaps “ok fair” rend mutters nodding his head in agreement “so why did you hide 40,000 dollars in a shoebox in a house and then sell said house? Do you want it back?” Jessie asks “no i don’t want it back, and I hid it for the fun of the search” rend says projecting his voice in the currently empty house “well why are you here?” Jessie asks “just wanted to check how your search was going” rend says walking off “well time to get videogames and tv” Jessie mutters walking off locking the house behind her as she goes shopping “that was….. An experience” Jessie mutters walking back into her house seeing it fully furnished “when did this happen?” jessie asks confused “I did ] it for you solved my puzzle” rend states “how’d you get in here?” Jessie asks “i have a key” rend states jessie then grabs the key “no. you can’t just come into my house!” Jessie snaps “that’s fair” rend says calmly “so how much money do you have? I mean you hid 40,000 bucks in a shoebox and buy all this furniture yet you look like an off brand batman which is super poor” jessie asks “well i’m kinda a millionaire I just don’t like people thinking im a rich snob” rend states pulling some money out of their pocket chucking it at violet “sweet  i have 20,000 again” violet mutters “well you want help with anything?” rend asks “well i could always take more money but i feel like that’d be rude, can you help set all this stuff up?” Jessie asks lifting up a playstation 4“yeah” rend says setting up the playstation 4 “thanks I owe ya one” jessie says “nah i came to make your life better” rend states walking off “sweet now….” violet mutters opening up all the game cases she got “time to download some stuff” violet continues

So far I have learnt that new Zealand food culture is heavily inspired by other cultures, I know I've learnt this due to the fact that I can see where New Zealand has taken inspiration form other countries food culture for example there's lots of sushi and Japanese places and we now sometimes can get salmon to cut yourself. Practicals I've made this term are, Fish&Chips, Pizza, Pad Thai, Nachos, and a few others I can't remember. They are originally from England Italy Thailand and mexico respectively but they've made it to NZ through immigration and settlers. Skills I've learnt from these practicals are better teamwork, organisational skills and speediness when grabbing ingredients, and I will use these skills in the future  to increase productivity while doing practicals. Working with the other people in my group has been both good and a struggle sometimes due to us not always seeing eye to eye in terms of flavours or spice.

as technology has improved the global human population has increased, I believe this as as technology makes things easier it lessens the danger of tasks and lowers the likelihood of death, some examples are the invention of the wheel which allows people to more easily transport objects over long distances there's also the steam engine which was the precursor to petrol and thus electric engines which made transport easier, as we can see from the bar graph (not shown here) the population increased from about ten and a half million to almost two billion is the time between the wheel and the steam engine that being 3500 bce and 1869 ad. This correlation shows that the increase in population is a result of technology's improvement

I can get better at this by:

1. figuring out how I learn best
2. make sure that it wasn't just a lucky week and that I learn best that way
3. learn to tell others how I learn best
